“The majority of the dogs do get adopted because we do shoot in advance,” he explained, adding that Puppy Bowl is typically filmed in October prior to when it airs.

Button and Gilbert
Button and Gilbert, two Shih tzu mixes, were left with their eight siblings in a plastic bin at a thrift store. They are now up for adoption and are described as outgoing, social, silly, and curious. Their favorite party trick is to bring people the treasures they find. Button was adopted by a crew member in New York before the Puppy Bowl aired, and Gilbert found a home with his two dads in Tennessee.
Sugar Lump
Sugar Lump, an American Bulldog Pekingese mix, was one of nine puppies brought to Angel City Pit Bulls with their mother. She arrived with an upper respiratory infection but was nursed back to full health along with her siblings. They are nicknamed the "Heirloom Tomato Litter" and have all been adopted, including Fox Cherry, Chianti Rose, Banana Legs, Hillbilly, Beefsteak, Moonglow, and Rosella Crimson (who is playing for Team Fluff). Sugar Lump is a natural-born leader and has been described as having the qualities of a real quarterback.

After being surrendered by his original owner, Asiago (previously named Duke) has been adopted into his forever home. He is now part of a family of three "cheese boys" with his adopted siblings, Parmesan and Reggiano.
Marshmallow
Marshmallow was one of five siblings surrendered by their owner and has been residing at Aheinz57 Pet Rescue in DeSoto, Iowa. Initially, they were living in a horse stall, and were filthy, scared, and unsocialized. However, they have turned out to be the sweetest dogs.

Border Collie Chow Chow mixes, Bacon, and Eggs were brought together to the Blue Water Area Humane Society in Clyde, Michigan. They were so young at the time of their arrival that they couldn't be separated from their mother. However, the staff provided them with special care and attention, and they have grown up to be sweet, playful, and intelligent dogs.

Puppy Bowl XIX, a celebration of adoptable dogs and the shelters that work to help them find their forever homes took place on Sunday, February 12.
