Resident Evil 8

Resident Evil 8 is a 2021 survival horror game created and released by Capcom, following the success of its predecessor, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017. The game was first announced during the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020 and was launched on May 7, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Later, a macOS version and a cloud version for Nintendo Switch were released in October 2022.

The game received mostly positive reviews, with critics praising its gameplay, setting, and variety, but criticizing its puzzles, boss fights, and performance issues on the Windows version. Some players also found fault with the increased focus on action, which divided opinions. Despite these criticisms, Resident Evil 8 was well-received and went on to win year-end awards, including Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards.

Resident Evil 8 Walkthrough

Resident Evil 8, also known as Resident Evil 8, begins with the player taking on the role of Ethan Winters, who has moved to a new location with his wife Mia and their daughter Rose. However, their peaceful life is soon interrupted when Chris Redfield, a familiar character from the Resident Evil series, shows up and takes Rose away. Ethan follows Chris to his base, where he is attacked and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a strange village, with no idea where Rose is or what is going on.

The Village (Arrival)

After exploring the village and encountering various enemies, Ethan eventually finds himself in a house where he meets a mysterious old woman named The Duke. The Duke offers to sell Ethan supplies and information, and he also introduces him to the Merchant System, which allows players to buy and sell items to help them progress through the game.

Castle Dimitrescu

Ethan learns that Rose is being held captive in a castle belonging to the aristocratic Dimitrescu family, who are also the source of the village's troubles. Ethan infiltrates the castle and faces off against Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters, who are all vampiric in nature. The player must solve puzzles and fight off enemies to progress through the castle and ultimately defeat Lady Dimitrescu.

The Village (Second Visit)

After escaping the castle, Ethan returns to the village to find that it has been overrun by lycans, wolf-like creatures that serve as the game's main enemies. Ethan must explore the village to find a way to reach the next location, while also gathering resources to help him survive.

House Beneviento

Ethan discovers that Rose is being held captive in the House Beneviento, a creepy mansion that is home to a supernatural entity known as Donna Beneviento. The player must navigate the mansion's puzzles and horrors to uncover the truth about Donna and her connection to Rose.

The Village (Third Visit)

After escaping the House Beneviento, Ethan returns to the village once again, only to find it under attack by a giant creature known as Urias. Ethan must work with the remaining villagers to fend off the attack and protect Rose.

The Reservoir

Ethan and the villagers discover that there is a reservoir that holds the key to stopping the village's troubles. Ethan must navigate the reservoir and defeat a boss monster in order to obtain the item needed to progress to the next location.

The Village (Fourth Visit)

Upon returning to the village, Ethan discovers that Chris Redfield has been working with a group called the BSAA to take down the source of the village's troubles. Ethan must work with Chris and the BSAA to defeat the remaining enemies and uncover the truth behind Rose's captivity.

The Stronghold

Ethan and Chris infiltrate the stronghold, the base of the game's main antagonist Miranda. The player must navigate the stronghold's puzzles and enemies to reach Miranda and confront her once and for all.

Heisenberg's Factory

Ethan faces off against Heisenberg, one of Miranda's lieutenants, in his factory. The player must use stealth and strategy to outsmart Heisenberg and defeat him.

Finale

Ethan finally confronts Miranda and learns the truth about her motivations and Rose's true nature. The player must defeat Miranda and her various forms to save Rose and bring an end to the game's events. The game concludes with an epilogue that ties up loose ends and provides closure for the story.

Resident Evil 8 Guide

Resident Evil 8: Village has been a massive hit since its release, and players have been thrilled with the game's mix of horror, exploration, and combat. One of the game's standout features is its bosses, with each one presenting unique challenges and requiring different tactics to defeat. In this guide, we'll take a look at each of the bosses and provide tips on how to beat them.

Lady Dimitrescu Boss Guide

Lady Dimitrescu is one of the most memorable bosses in Resident Evil 8. She's a towering vampire lady with razor-sharp claws and a thirst for blood. The fight takes place in her castle, where she'll stalk you through the halls and attack with her claws. To defeat Lady Dimitrescu, you'll need to keep your distance and dodge her attacks. She has a few different moves, including a lunging attack and a claw swipe, but they're all telegraphed and can be avoided with careful timing.

Donna Beneviento Boss Guide

Donna Beneviento is a unique boss in Resident Evil 8 in that she doesn't actually fight you directly. Instead, she sends her puppet, Angie, after you. The fight takes place in a creepy dollhouse, and Angie is fast and nimble, making her hard to hit. To defeat Angie, you'll need to be quick on your feet and use your weapons wisely. Angie can teleport and move quickly, so it's best to use a shotgun or grenade launcher to deal damage when you have an opening.

Salvatore Moreau Boss Guide

Salvatore Moreau is a grotesque, fish-like creature that resides in a swampy area. He attacks with his tentacles and can swim quickly through the water, making him a challenging opponent. To defeat Salvatore Moreau, you'll need to shoot the weak spots on his body. These are the glowing orange sacs on his chest and back. Keep your distance and use a powerful weapon like a grenade launcher or magnum to deal damage quickly.

Sturm Boss Guide

Sturm is a giant, propeller-headed creature that attacks you in a factory. He's fast and powerful, and his spinning blades can deal massive damage. To defeat Sturm, you'll need to hit his weak point, which is located on his back. Use a powerful weapon like a grenade launcher or magnum to deal damage quickly. Sturm will attack with his blades and can also send out shockwaves that can knock you down.

Heisenberg Boss Guide

Heisenberg is the final boss of Resident Evil 8, and he's a tough opponent. He has a variety of attacks, including throwing metal shards and using his telekinetic powers to fling you around. To defeat Heisenberg, you'll need to be patient and use your weapons wisely. He's vulnerable to explosives, so use your grenade launcher or pipe bombs to deal massive damage. When he's stunned, run up and use your knife or shotgun to deal extra damage.

Resident Evil 8 Gameplay

Resident Evil 8, the latest installment in the Resident Evil series, is a first-person horror game that follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game takes place in a snowy, explorable Eastern European village, located in Romania, which has been described as "pulled straight from the Victorian era." The village is much larger and more immersive than its predecessor, and players will be able to climb structures and buildings to fight off enemies.

The game's protagonist, Ethan Winters, is back, and this time he is equipped with more combat skills, thanks to his military training. Resident Evil 8 is more action-oriented compared to Biohazard, with an increased focus on combat and survival. The game's primary enemies are the Lycans, who are werewolf-like creatures that are agile, intelligent, and can wield weapons.
