Smite Game
Smite is a free-to-play video game released in 2014. It's a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) where players control gods, goddesses, and other mythological characters. They work in teams, using their unique abilities and strategies to fight against other player-controlled gods and computer-controlled minions.
The game offers different player-versus-player modes and a wide range of playable characters. It's also popular in the esports community, hosting various tournaments, including the prestigious Smite World Championship with a million-dollar prize pool. Smite is available on platforms like Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Amazon Luna.
Smite Gameplay
Smite is a game with different ways to play, and the biggest mode is called Conquest. Players can pick from options like Training against AI, playing with friends, or competing in ranked matches. There are special event games too, with unique rules like unlimited gold.
At the start of each match, players choose a god or mythological character to control. There's a wide selection from various pantheons like Greek, Norse, and more. Each character falls into one of five classes: Assassin, Guardian, Hunter, Mage, or Warrior. In competitive modes, no two players on the same team can pick the same character.
Unlike most games of this type, in Smite, you control your character from a third-person view. Each god has a basic attack, a special trait, and four abilities with different effects. You level up by gaining experience, which comes from being near when enemies are defeated. You also collect gold, which you can use to buy items and special abilities.
The game has different maps for each mode, divided into lanes where computer-controlled minions march, and a jungle area where monsters appear. Killing monsters gives you experience and gold. Some monsters drop buffs that temporarily boost your abilities. There are also special, tougher monsters that give extra rewards to the team that defeats them.
