Soft and Quiet Ending Explained

As they arrive in Anne and Lily's neighborhood, Marjorie notices that Anne lives in a duplex on a hill and expresses resentment about the size of Anne's home compared to her own apartment. Although Craig assumes they will cause damage, a sense of foreboding hangs over the group. Once inside the house, they help themselves to beer and food from the fridge, and Emily develops a bond with Anne's dog, which she hides in a cupboard.

Marjorie feels envious of Anne's privileged lifestyle, complete with a piano, washer, dryer, and expansive living space. They locate Anne's passport and plan to burn it. However, their plan is interrupted when they hear a car approaching, and they quickly hide inside. Anne soon realizes that someone has broken in and cannot locate her dog.

When she tries to escape, Craig captures and ties her to a chair, while the other women verbally abuse and threaten her. Later, when Craig attempts to leave, he encounters Lily, Anne's sister, and forces her inside. Although Craig advises the women to leave, they are reluctant to do so. Emily is upset when Craig departs, but Leslie provides reassurance and takes charge of the situation. Marjorie becomes increasingly violent and abusive due to her disappointment over not receiving a job promotion, while Kim is apprehensive about the potential consequences. Nonetheless, the group bands together and agrees to stick together.

Is Soft and Quiet on Netflix?

Yes, the movie Soft and Quiet is available on Netflix. The movie centers around a school teacher who gathers a group of individuals, and the plot hints that it may revolve around either a political or spiritual meeting that ends in a violent altercation. The recently released trailer provides more insights into what viewers can expect from the movie.

During the trailer, Emily gives subtle glances towards individuals of color, and the women shown in the teacher's club appear to be white-passing, possibly suggesting a particular agenda. Emily also discusses the need to be cautious about the content of a magazine they are working on, implying that their intention might be to create a form of propaganda while keeping their true motives concealed.

The trailer takes an intense turn when a blood-curdling scream pierces through the screen, splitting it into two distinct parts. The women in the group appear to be in a frenzy, attempting to clean up a red liquid and turning on each other. It becomes evident that something has gone terribly wrong, and the truth will soon come to light.

Soft and Quiet Plot

Emily, a kindergarten teacher, arranges the inaugural gathering of the "Daughters for Aryan Unity", a group consisting of white supremacist Caucasian women that includes ex-convict Leslie, small grocer owner Kim, and disgruntled retail worker Marjorie. During the meeting, held at a church, the members voice their grievances against immigrants, minorities, Jews, feminists, diversity quotas, and social justice organizations such as Black Lives Matter.

However, the meeting is abruptly ended by the church pastor, who is uncomfortable with the group's agenda, and forces Emily to leave. To save face, Emily invites the others to her home, and they all accept. The group stops by Kim's store to pick up food and drinks, and while Emily is choosing wine, Asian-American sisters Anne and Lily arrive. Unaware that the store was closed, they try to buy wine but are denied service by Kim.

Lily becomes hostile towards Kim and Leslie, while Anne tries to calm the situation, only to be intimidated by Emily into purchasing the most expensive item available. As the sisters leave, Marjorie provokes a verbal altercation with Anne that turns violent. Kim pulls out a gun and forces the sisters to leave at gunpoint, and as they depart, Lily taunts Emily about her brother, who is currently serving time in a county correctional facility for rape.

Emily's husband Craig arrives and tries to calm things down, but Leslie, who is furious, advises going to Anne's house to vandalise the property and grab her passport. Craig initially refuses, but Emily coerces him into complying. The four women and Craig come at Anne's house and commit small mischief before Kim discovers Anne's passport. Anne and Lily arrive home unexpectedly and uncover the invaders before they can flee.

The home intruders, befuddled and unsure of what to do, bound and gag Anne and Lily at gunpoint and consider their choices. Craig goes because he cannot accept the circumstances. To keep the sisters quiet, Leslie advises cleaning up the property to conceal physical traces of their existence and threatening them. Leslie and Marjorie battered Anne and Lily while drinking and forced-fed Lily various foods and drinks. Lily starts choking; the women remove Anne's gag, and she reveals that Lily is allergic to peanuts.

Leslie discovers an epi-pen too late, and Lily dies as a result of the allergic response. As a result of this revelation, the group begins to dispute; Kim and Marjorie want to leave right once, while Emily insists on removing the physical proof.  Leslie proposes making it look like a rape to make it appear less plausible that the attack was carried out by a group of women, and then pierces Anne with a carrot while the other three ladies clean up the crime scene.

Leslie then uses a pillow to suffocate Anne. The four invaders depart the property after dumping all of their trash, cleaning supplies, and Lily and Anne's bodies into a bag. When they arrive at a nearby lake, they board a boat and throw the bag overboard. Anne, who is still alive after they go, frees herself.
