Splatoon 3

Splatoon 3 is a popular third-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, released on 9 September 2022. As the third installment in the Splatoon series, it succeeded "Splatoon 2." This game maintains the hallmark ink-based combat while introducing both online multiplayer (player versus player and player versus environment) and an engaging single-player campaign. The initial teaser trailer was unveiled on 17 February 2021, generating immense anticipation leading up to its launch.

Critical reception praised its enriching gameplay mechanics, customization options, additional maps, and single-player campaign. However, some critiques were directed at the game's matchmaking and disconnection problems, as well as its perceived shortage of fresh content. As of 31 March 2023, "Splatoon 3" has achieved remarkable success, selling a staggering 10.67 million copies globally, establishing its status as the franchise's fastest-selling game and one of the best-selling titles for the Nintendo Switch.

Splatoon 3 Trailer

Splatoon 3 Gameplay

Splatoon 3 is a game where you play as characters called Inklings or Octolings. You shoot colored ink from different weapons, like paint rollers or sniper rifles, to cover the ground or hit opponents. In the game, you can change into a squid or octopus form to move faster and climb inked walls.

There are three types of weapons: main, sub, and special. The main weapons are what you choose to use, sub-weapons are extra tools for your main weapon, and special weapons need you to cover the ground with ink to use them. You need to manage the amount of ink you have, and swimming in ink helps refill it. The game has many weapons, and some are new while others are from earlier Splatoon games.

Splatoon 3 Plot

In the game, the player follows an old squid named Craig Cuttlefish into a dangerous place filled with Fuzzy Ooze. They are recruited by Cuttlefish to join the New Squidbeak Splatoon as Agent 3. They also have a pet Salmonid Smallfry called "Little Buddy." Little Buddy helps destroy the ooze and clear the way. The player fights mutated Octarian enemies alongside Cuttlefish, who thinks they've stolen the Great Zapfish powering Splatsville.

The adventure takes them to an underground city called Alterna, where they meet familiar faces and discover a plot by Mr. Grizz to change life into mammals using the Fuzzy Ooze. They team up with a group called Deep Cut to stop this plan, ultimately saving the day and returning to Earth with the Great Zapfish. Mr. Grizz faces consequences for his actions.
