Splatoon 3 Wiki
Splatoon 3 is a video game for the Nintendo Switch, developed and published by Nintendo. As the third installment in the Splatoon series, it follows the previous title, Splatoon 2. The game retains the same style as its predecessors, featuring both online multiplayer modes (player vs player and player vs environment) and a single-player campaign, all centered around ink-based combat.
Splatoon 3, a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch, was revealed in a teaser trailer on February 17, 2021, and was released on September 9, 2022. The game has received generally positive reviews, with additional maps, a single-player campaign, and customization options being praised while matchmaking and disconnection issues and lack of new content were criticized. As of March 31, 2023, Splatoon 3 has sold 10.67 million copies worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game in the franchise and one of the best-selling Switch games available.
Nintendo EPD developed Splatoon 3 with the assistance of Monolith Soft, SRD, and Bandai Namco Studios Singapore & Malaysia, who had previously worked on previous Splatoon games. The game features NLPN, which is Nintendo's in-house server system. This system enables the game to have enhanced lobby features and better matchmaking capabilities.

Splatoon 3 Gameplay
Splatoon 3, like its predecessors in the Splatoon series, is a third-person shooter game. Players have the choice to play as either an Inkling or Octoling character. These characters use weapons that shoot colored ink. The game features a wide variety of weapons with unique abilities and designs, many of which resemble everyday objects. For example, Rollers are large paint rollers that excel at covering large areas with ink but are mainly used for close-range combat. On the other hand, Chargers resemble sniper rifles and offer long-range precision but are less effective at covering the ground with ink. Splatoon 3 introduces new main, sub, and special weapons, expanding the gameplay options for players.
Main weapons can be selected by the player, while sub-weapons are secondary weapons attached to main weapons that consume more ink. Special weapons are tied to specific main weapons and require the player to cover the ground with ink to charge them up. Inklings and Octolings have the ability to transform into squid or octopus forms, respectively, known as the "swim form." In this form, they can climb walls covered in ink and swim through ink faster than in their humanoid forms. Submerging in ink replenishes weapon ink ammunition more quickly in swim form compared to humanoid form. Splatoon 3 brings back all the basic weapons from the previous Splatoon games.
Splatoon 3 is a competitive third-person shooter game where players choose to be either an Inkling or Octoling character. The main game mode, Turf War, involves two teams competing to cover the most area of the map with their respective ink colors. Players use various weapons, including main, sub, and special weapons, to attack opponents and control the field. As players gain experience, they unlock ranked modes such as Anarchy Battles with different objectives like Clam Blitz, Splat Zones, Tower Control, and Rainmaker. Splatfests return as special events where players join teams and compete over a theme. Salmon Run Next Wave is a co-op PvE mode where players collect Golden Eggs by defeating Boss Salmonids. The mode has waves of enemies, and players must meet egg quotas to progress. Splatoon 3 introduces new features like Tricolor Turf War during Splatfests and Big Run events where Salmonids invade Splatsville. Additionally, a new mode called Tableturf Battle is a digital collectible card game based on Turf War, where players use trading cards to apply patterns and overwrite opponents' patterns on a grid.
