Sports Story Version 1.0.5 Release Date
The release date for Sports Story has not been given and we will update here once they reveal the dates for the patch notes update version 1.0.5. The announcement for the game was made on December 10, 2019, during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase. The developers had initially planned for the game to be released in 2020, but similar to the development process for Golf Story, Sports Story faced several delays due to the increasing scale of the project. Finally, the game was released on December 23, 2022. Upon the game's initial release, players were able to access a secret room in the game, which was designed to look like a game development office. In the secret room, the occupants were heard complaining about a project's "troubled development", and some speculated that this was a reference to the protracted development of Sports Story itself. However, a later patch was released that blocked player access to the secret room and changed the occupants' dialogue to be more positive, albeit in a sarcastic manner, while still acknowledging the existence of the secret room.
Sports Story Gameplay
Sports Story is an adventure game played from a top-down perspective that continues the story of the original game's protagonist. In this game, the protagonist is investigating suspicious activities conducted by both the PureStrike megacorporation and the Iron Dragons yakuza. Unlike Golf Story, which solely centered around golf, Sports Story incorporates other sports such as tennis, association football, cricket, volleyball, and BMX into its gameplay. These sports are used as mechanics in the game, which includes a variety of gameplay styles such as minigames, dungeon crawling, and stealth segments. Additionally, the game features a fully-developed storyline revolving around a tennis academy that is separate from the main plot.
