Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is a franchise cricket team that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team, owned by Kalanithi Maran of the SUN Group, was founded in 2012 after the Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers were terminated by the IPL. The team is coached by Brian Lara and captained by Aiden Markram. SRH won their maiden IPL title in 2016 and has qualified for the play-off stage of the tournament in every season since then. Known for their impressive bowling, David Warner is the leading run scorer for the side and Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the leading wicket-taker.
In 2012, Sunrisers Hyderabad took over the franchise spot of the Deccan Chargers and made their debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2013. Sun TV Network became the new owner of the franchise after the Deccan Chronicle went bankrupt. The team was announced in Chennai on 18 December 2012. Sun TV Network Limited is one of India's largest media and entertainment companies, headquartered in Chennai, with 32 TV channels and 45 FM radio stations. The team's management was led by Kris Srikkanth, now replaced by veteran Muttiah Muralitharan, Tom Moody, and V. V. S. Laxman. The team jersey was unveiled on 8 March 2013, and the team anthem composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar was released on 12 March 2013, while the logo was unveiled on 20 December 2012.
