Thursday marked the exciting commencement of the second edition of the 2023 Camping World SRX Series ESPN Thursday Night Thunder. ESPN will kick off the television coverage at 9:00 PM ET. However, the Main Event won't be the initial focus of the broadcast.
The SRX Racing Series comprises two Heat Races, which determine the starting lineup for the main event. The outcomes of both the Heat Races and the Main Event contribute to the season-long championship standings.

How are Points Scored in SRX Race?
Throughout the night in the SRX Racing events, there will be two sets of points allocated. In the heat races, points will be awarded on a descending scale, with the Heat Race winner receiving 12 points, and the points reducing by one for each subsequent position, all the way down to one point for the 12th-place finisher.
During the Main Event, the points system follows a different pattern. The race winner is rewarded with 25 points, while the second-place driver earns 22 points. Each position beyond second place decreases by two points, meaning that third place secures 20 points, fourth place gains 18 points, and so on.
For the 2023 SRX Racing season, eight drivers are currently scheduled to participate in the full six-race schedule. These full-time drivers include Brad Keselowski, Hailie Deegan, Tony Stewart, Marco Andretti, Bobby Labonte, Ryan Newman, Ken Schrader, and Paul Tracy. However, Ryan Hunter-Reay, who was initially set to compete in the entire season, had to alter his plans due to commitments in the NTT IndyCar Series.
