Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League
"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" is an action shooter game created by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. It's a spin-off from the Batman: Arkham series and acts as a sequel to Batman: Arkham Knight. In this game, players control four supervillains—Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark—sent by Amanda Waller to Metropolis to stop the alien invader Brainiac and free the Justice League members under his control.
The open-world design allows solo or cooperative gameplay, enabling players to freely explore Metropolis. Originally set for a 2022 release, the game faced delays and is now scheduled for February 2, 2024. The deluxe edition was released early on January 29, 2024, and features Kevin Conroy's final performance as Batman.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Early Access
Rocksteady Studios' early access launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faced a setback as a bug automatically marked players' games as completed. This glitch affected user profiles, compelling the studio to take the game servers offline within an hour of release.
Why Was the Early Access Halted?
Players who opted for the Deluxe Edition, offering 72-hour early access, encountered a bug upon logging in. The bug prematurely marked all save files as fully completed, prompting Rocksteady Studios to shut down servers and address the issue through maintenance.
Developer's Response and Fix
Rocksteady Studios acknowledged the bug and assured players that they are working on a fix. The studio identified the problem impacting player profiles and is currently testing the solution. The game servers are expected to be back online after implementing the fix, though the timeframe remains uncertain.
Offline Mode Concerns
Player frustration was heightened by the lack of an offline mode in Suicide Squad. While an offline mode is planned post-launch, the release date for this feature is currently unspecified.
Upcoming Release
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is scheduled for a full release on February 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
Is Suicide Squad down?
For players anticipating an early experience with the Deluxe Edition of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, priced at $99.99, disappointment ensued. The 72-hour early access, set to begin on January 30th, started with a significant bug. Users in Australia and New Zealand, accessing the game ahead of others, found their save files erroneously marked as fully completed upon logging into the servers. In response, Rocksteady Studios promptly shut down the servers for maintenance to address the issue, leaving the extent of its impact on other early-access players uncertain. This incident follows previous concerns, including the absence of review codes for media outlets. The full game release remains scheduled for February 2nd.
