When you play alone, you can switch between characters whenever you want, and the others are controlled by the computer. Each character has their own weapons and fighting style. For example, Harley Quinn uses a baseball bat and moves around using Batman's grappling hook.
As you play, you can unlock new abilities and customize your characters with a skill tree. This lets you try out different ways to play the game. In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a group of bad guys, including Deadshot, Boomerang, Harley Quinn, and King Shark, are forced by Amanda Waller to join her team, the Suicide Squad. They have bombs in their heads that'll explode if they disobey. They're sent to Metropolis, where Brainiac, a bad alien, is attacking. The Justice League, controlled by Brainiac, fights them.
The squad tries to stop Brainiac, but they need weapons and help. They recruit other villains like Hack, Gizmo, Penguin, Poison Ivy, and Toyman. They try to get info from Lex Luthor, but Flash, controlled by Brainiac, kills him. Wonder Woman helps the squad, but Flash is killed using anti-Speed Force tech. They get sucked into another world, meet another Lex Luthor, and return with a plan.
They steal stuff from Batman's vault and get help from Luthor-2. They kill Green Lantern and weaken Brainiac's shield. Waller wants to nuke Brainiac, but Superman stops her. Superman fights Wonder Woman and almost dies. They capture Batman to make a weapon against Superman, but Harley kills him.
They use the weapon on Superman, but Brainiac captures them. Luthor-2 saves them and reveals there are many Brainiacs. They defeat Brainiac and stop his plan. Now they plan to hunt down other Brainiacs in different universes.
