How much of their behavior and communication is a genuine reflection of their inner thoughts and feelings? Although the murder mystery plot of Thankam leaves us with these poignant questions, the final act may come across as somewhat lackluster. Nonetheless, I contend that if Kannan's (Vineeth Sreenivasan) actions at the end sharply diverge from our expectations, this is a testament to the skill of director Saheed Arafath and writer Syam Pushkaran.Kannan exudes a likable and composed persona as a hardworking hero from the working-class. He appears to have a firm grip on things and is known as a "gold rider," transporting ornaments from Thrissur to jewelers in Mumbai. His efforts earn him raw gold biscuits or coins that his business partner, Muthu (Biju Menon), converts into finished jewelry. The film commences with an exceptional song that effectively establishes Kannan's demeanor. Muthu appears to rely on Kannan, finding solace in his unwavering confidence during difficult situations. Kannan possesses insider knowledge, and in just a few minutes into the movie, it becomes apparent that he is up to something. Thankam can be seen as a portrayal of ordinary individuals through its character study. The film primarily focuses on Kannan and his efforts to project a false image of himself.
