In episode 36 of "Till the End of the Moon," Qu Xuanzi is killed by Di Mian, who stabs him with Devil Sword. Qu Xuanzi had helped Li Susu seal Evil Bone, but after she doesn't wake up, Di Mian stabs Qu Xuanzi, causing his death. Earlier, Li Susu had talked with Di Mian about Evil Bone, and he believed that Cang Jiumin had asked her to conceal the secret from them, as he wished to take back Evil Bone.

Chief Cen questions her about protecting Devil Fetus, but she informs the chiefs that Cang Jiumin, who is the previous emperor of Jing Kingdom Tantai Jin, cannot be Devil God even if he was chosen by Devil God. She reveals that she took away Cang Jiumin's Evil Bone 500 years ago, but the immortals do not believe her.
Li Susu asks Chief Cen for the item to take out her memories and shows them her memories to prove that Cang Jiumin is not Devil God. Qu Xuanzi comforts him, and the immortals agree to watch Cang Jiumin. Si Ying and Jing Mie return to Demon Realm, and Si Ying mentions that Devil God was born from Demon Palace.
He believes that Cang Jiumin will come back when Demon Palace exists. Di Mian explains to Qu Xuanzi that he told the truth after he heard Cang Jiumin summoned Devil Crossbow. He tells Qu Xuanzi that he came to help Immortal Sects stop the resurrection of Devil God and promises not to give Cang Jiumin a hard time. Qu Xuanzi seals Devil Crossbow with Chief Cen and swears to use it to kill those immortals. Cang Jiumin takes care of Li Susu, and he remembers that she gave him rice to eat.
