In episodes 25 and 26 of the show, Ye Xi Wu visits Xiao Lin in prison where he's been locked up by Tantai Jin. She promises to free him within six days no matter the cost. After much deliberation, Ye Xi Wu prepares a suspicious porridge for Tantai Jin.
When she brings it to him, Tantai Jin appears happy and moves to kiss her, but Ye Xi Wu tries to avoid it, making him suspicious of the food. Ye Xi Wu becomes nervous and Tantai Jin asks her to feed him since she cooked it. As she feeds him, a dead moth is seen lying on the bed next to Ye Xi Wu.
The next day, Tantai Jin's grandmother is found dead due to poisoning. Tantai Jin suspects Ye Xi Wu of poisoning the food since she made it for him. Later, Bing Chang arrives and asks Tantai Jin to investigate who Ye Xi Wu may have targeted with the poisonous porridge.
