Unlocked Movie Ending Explained

The article describes the plot of a Korean movie called Unlocked that revolves around the story of a young woman named Na-mi who becomes the target of a serial killer, Woo Jun-yeong, who has a tendency towards stalking and several disguises. However, as the story unfolds, it turns out that Jun-yeong is not actually who he appears to be.

Na-mi loses her phone and Jun-yeong, who has pre-recorded responses in a woman's voice, answers her friend's call to return it. Na-mi also calls her phone and receives Jun-yeong's premeditated responses, and they arrange for the phone to be left at Na-mi's father's cafe. When Na-mi arrives to collect her phone, she meets Jun-yeong at a sketchy-looking phone shop where he fixes her phone and places spyware on it.

Jun-yeong starts watching Na-mi's life through the phone camera, listens to every conversation and reads every text, and uses the information to stalk and isolate her from everyone who cares about her. At the same time, Jun-yeong's father, a police detective called Ji-man, discovers evidence that his estranged son could be involved in the murder of several people. Ji-man finds Jun-yeong's apartment, but Jun-yeong destroys the evidence and flees.

Jun-yeong continues to "bump into" Na-mi and sabotages her life by sending hurtful messages to get her fired and lose all her friends. Na-mi knows she has been hacked and calls Jun-yeong, posing as an IT guy, to help her. Meanwhile, Ji-man and his partner find Jun-yeong's sketchy IT help center, and the three agree to work together to catch Jun-yeong.

The killer receives a call from Na-mi and heads to her apartment, but Ji-man doesn't recognize his own son, and Jun-yeong retreats to Na-mi's father's house. Jun-yeong forces Na-mi to text the police before tying her up and waterboarding her in the bathtub alongside her father. Jun-yeong is caught and beaten by his "father," but it turns out that Jun-yeong had been estranged from his father for seven years because he was actually the killer's first victim, and the killer had been talking to Jun-yeong's mother pretending to be him.

Overall, the drama portrays the complex and intertwined relationships between the characters, as well as the dark and unsettling nature of the crimes committed by the serial killer. The twists and turns in the plot keep the audience engaged and guessing until the very end.
