Unwelcome Ending explained
At the end of Unwelcome, Maya receives the head of Eoin from the Far Darrig. The Whelan family witnesses this and decide to take revenge by burning down the house and killing Jamie and Maya. However, Maya teams up with the Far Darrig from the woods, who kill the Whelan family one by one. Maya, who is in labor, shoots the last surviving member of the Whelan family with his own shotgun. Although Maya successfully gives birth to her baby, a twist in the plot occurs when the Far Darrig drags the child into their underground lair. The final act of the movie begins as Maya enters the underground dwelling of the Far Darrig, where she encounters an old woman who is revealed to be Jamie's cousin, stolen by the Far Darrig at birth. Maya fights with the old woman and finally kills her, retrieving her baby. The Far Darrig celebrate Maya as their new leader, following her back to her garden and baptizing her in blood, anointing her as their savior, a role that was previously held by Jamie's lost niece until her death. The final shot of the movie shows a blood-covered Maya looking on as Far Darrig praises her.

Unwelcome movie plot
Jamie and Maya, a young couple in London, learn that Maya is pregnant and celebrate together, but are later attacked by a group of thugs. While Maya remains unharmed, Jamie is left badly injured. After the incident, they decide to move to a new home in rural Ireland that Jamie inherited from his great-aunt Maeve. They hire the Whelan family as builders to help renovate the house, but they are warned by Niamh, an old friend of Jamie's aunt, to leave an offering of the liver at a door in the back garden every night for the Red Caps that live in the forest. Despite the warning, they dismiss it as a superstition.
As they settle into their new home, they discover that Maeve lost her daughter, who disappeared when she was only two years old and was never found. Niamh tells Maya a story about a deal Maeve made with the Red Caps to save her husband's life, resulting in the loss of her daughter. However, Maya begins to suspect that Maeve might have killed her daughter due to post-partum depression.
The Whelan family turns out to be troubled and violent, with the younger children stealing minor items from the house, and the older son Eoin suffering abuse from his father. Maya discovers a stone shrine to the Red Caps in the woods and encounters Eoin, who confesses to the abuse he has endured. However, he tries to assault her, only to be taken away by the Red Caps.
One night, Maya is given Eoin's head in a plastic bag with a Red Cap, confirming their existence to Jamie and Maya. The Whelan family then attacks the house, seeking answers about Eoin's disappearance. Maya is caught with Eoin's head while trying to escape, prompting her to flee to the woods for help from the Red Caps. In response, the Red Caps come to the house and fight with the Whelans, killing all three as Maya gives birth.
After the baby is born, the Red Caps take the baby as payment for their help. Maya follows them to the shrine and discovers an old woman, whom she realizes is the lost daughter of Jamie's aunt. Maya kills one of the Red Caps and the old woman, taking her daughter back to the house. Jamie watches in horror as Maya is anointed with the blood and skull of the old woman, apparently becoming the new "Mother Redcap."
