Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is a popular battle royale video game developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software, and is available for free on various gaming platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. As a sequel to the previous year's Call of Duty: Warzone, the game is also a part of the 2022 release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Unlike its predecessor, players do not need to purchase the parent title to access Warzone 2.0. The game was introduced during Season 1 of Modern Warfare II content, featuring cross-platform play and a brand new extraction mode known as DMZ.

Activision officially revealed Warzone 2.0 during the Call of Duty Next event in September 2022 and was released on November 16, 2022. The game is part of the single cross-game launcher known as Call of Duty HQ, allowing players to easily access and switch between different Call of Duty titles.

Warzone has three main maps: Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, and Building 21. Al Mazrah is the primary Battle Royale map, with a large desert-themed terrain and almost 20 points of interest. Ashika Island is a smaller map that serves as the primary locale for the Resurgence mode, featuring Japanese towns, markets, and a castle surrounded by water-based points of interest. Building 21 is a DMZ-exclusive location with increased difficulty compared to other DMZ locales, accessible only with a specific keycard item obtained from the Al Mazrah map in DMZ. Players must fight against heavily armored Shadow Company mercenaries and each other in this weekend-only map.

Warzone 2 DMZ Rebreather

The newly introduced rebreather in DMZ can greatly enhance your looting experiences while exploring the sandy shores of Al Mazrah and the stunning hills of Ashika Island. These rebreathers are also linked to newly added missions, making it essential to find and utilize them in order to advance in the game.

The latest addition to the game is the rebreather, which grants players the ability to breathe underwater. However, this newfound power also brings about new challenges. While the rebreather can be an excellent tool for surprising enemies with sneaky flanks from underwater depths, it requires skill and strategy to utilize effectively. In particular, the rebreather can be especially useful on Ashika Island, where there are numerous bodies of water spread throughout the map.

In dire situations where you need to make a daring escape from a team relentlessly pursuing you for the final kill, or while exploring submerged areas of the map in search of better loot, the rebreather can be your saving grace. Although they can be challenging to locate, these items can prove to be just as valuable as other rare items. In critical moments, having a rebreather on hand can mean the difference between a successful heist and a tragic end at the bottom of the sea.

How to Use the Rebreather Field Upgrade in DMZ?

The Rebreather can be equipped in your field upgrade slot, and to activate it you need to press the corresponding button or key bind. Pressing the attack/fire button once will cause your operator to perform an animation of sucking in air from the oxygen bottle, allowing you to breathe underwater. You can use the Rebreather up to four times before it runs out. While not as important as ammo boxes, this field upgrade can come in handy for missions like Into The Deep and Out of The Deep where breathing underwater is necessary.

To activate the Rebreather field upgrade, use the designated buttons on your gaming platform.

  • PlayStation: L1 + R1
  • Xbox: LB + RB
  • PC: Hold X

After equipping the Rebreather, players can take a breath from the canister by pressing the fire button.

  • PlayStation: R2
  • Xbox: RT
  • PC: Left Mouse Button

Where to Find Rebreather in Warzone 2?

Players can find the rebreather as an equitable field upgrade in various locations, such as loot crates or tables. Rebreathers are scattered around Ashika Island and Al Mazrah near docks and warehouses and can be found in lockers and cabinets as well as on benches, desks, and tables.

They can also be purchased from Buy Stations, but there is no specific area with a higher chance of finding them. Players must search various locations and hope for good luck.

With four charges, it can be used while diving into deep water. To activate the rebreather, players must hold it in their hands while diving and then click the fire button to breathe from the handheld tank.

The Rebreather is a random item and players may not always find it in their games. However, it can potentially be found in the following areas:

  • Ground loot
  • Chests
  • Weapon lockers
  • Toolboxes
  • First Aid boxes

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Gameplay

Get ready to jump out of that plane and onto a huge game map where you'll have to eliminate other players to be the last one standing. But watch out, the playable area will shrink as the game progresses, forcing you to fight in tighter spaces.

But wait, there's more! In Warzone 2.0, the Circle Collapse feature will spawn multiple circles within the map that close independently before converging into a single safe zone. And if you're killed, don't worry, you'll get a second chance in the "Gulag", a small arena where you'll have to battle another player for the chance to respawn on the map.

And let's not forget about the in-game cash currencies that allow you to buy all sorts of items at buy stations scattered across the map, including custom load-outs with personalized weapons and perk setups. So, get out there and show everyone who's boss in Warzone 2.0's Battle Royale mode!

In Warzone 2.0, players can battle AI enemies for strongholds to gain loot, while a new game mode called DMZ allows players to exfil with loot. Resurgence, a mode in which players can respawn, returns in Season 2, with the cooldown period reducing by completing contracts or killing other players. Plunder is reintroduced in Season 3, with players searching for Cash stacks to accumulate $1 million and respawn automatically. Finally, a Ranked competitive mode is introduced for the first time in Warzone.

Warzone 2.0 not only shares progression with Modern Warfare II, but it also has cross-platform progression and social features with Warzone Mobile, which is a dope new title that's only available on mobile devices. So, whether you're playing on your console or your phone, you can still level up and connect with your squadmates.
