The Netflix documentary named One of Us explains the story of Etty Ausch. She was raised in an ultra-Orthodox Community in Brooklyn. She eventually lost custody of her 7 children after leaving an ultra-orthodox community.
In "One of Us," which was released in October, three persons, including Etty Ausch, share their experiences of leaving the Brooklyn Hasidic community. The famous movie, which was directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady (co-creators of "Jesus Camp" and "Detropia"), depicts custody proceedings between Ausch and her abusive ex-husband over her seven children. It claims that the Hasidic community works together to harass her and raise money for her ex-husband’s attorney.

She plans to transfer to a four-year university in the fall after completing her associate's degree in criminal justice at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Her long-term objective is to enroll in law school and advocate for marginalized and defenseless groups, such as the LGBTQ community and women.
