Australian Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains

The original Heroes vs. Villains premiered in the United States in 2010, giving Survivor fans one of the best seasons to date. That season had it all: an all-star cast; strong challenges and twists; an unpredictable boot order; the first-ever two-time winner in the Survivor franchise; and, most importantly, the perfect balance of old-school Survivor while providing fresh and entertaining nuances that paved the way for the franchise to continue into what became the modern Survivor era.

Now, in 2023, Australian Survivor has brought back this beloved theme, and the first episode, much like its predecessor, was packed with old rivalries, newbies who had to adapt to the game quickly, returning players willing to do whatever it takes to prove themselves, and ruthless gameplay that led to the season's first blindside.

What Happened To George On Survivor?

George and Jackie from the Villains tribe are injured during the first immunity challenge after a bad landing on the first obstacle. Even though Jackie's injury appears serious, the challenge continues, and the Heroes begin to pull ahead, eventually winning immunity and their second challenge in a row. Feeling defeated, the Villains return to camp to plan who will be the first to be voted out of their tribe. Back at camp, several plans are proposed, and no one is safe. All eyes are on George; however, because George is still with the medical team, the Villains must have a backup plan in case he does not return in time for the tribal council.

Who Could Be Eliminated From The Villain's Tribe?

All eyes are on George, who is being voted out of the tribe. Now that George is in the hospital receiving treatment, the Villains must devise a backup plan in case he does not return in time for the tribal council. Shonee is naturally concerned that she will be targeted next in George's absence, so she sticks to her previous strategy of having a number one ally in whom she has the most faith. Liz Parnov, a newcomer, is chosen because she exudes "BFE": best friend energy. Shonee decides to target Jackie and use George as a meat shield if she returns, as George will always take the heat off her.

Anjali, another of George's friends, is chosen as the replacement vote in the event that George and Jackie do not return. Anjali and others unanimously vote to remove Stevie Khouw from Champions vs. Contender 2018. Stevie, on the other hand, has plans, as he wants vengeance on Shonee for pulling a blindside on him during their previous season together. Overall, neither the returnees nor the newcomer Anjali have a good chance of being the first Villain to have their torch extinguished.

Who Gets Voted Out Of The Villains?

When the Villains arrive at tribal council, Jonathan informs them that George and Jackie are still under medical supervision for the foreseeable future, which means they won't be able to attend the first tribal. Before reading the votes, Jonathan says that George is fine but will need to be monitored for a while; unfortunately, Jackie has a fractured collarbone and, while she is fine, she will be unable to return to the game.

As previously stated, the blindside occurs when Jonathan gives the tribe the option of reading the votes and losing another person, or remaining as is.

Jonathan questions the players and reminds them about upcoming challenges against the Heroes as they face the possibility of being three players down on day two, as George's return isn't guaranteed. Despite this, the Villains elect Jonathan to read the votes, and Anjali is voted out unanimously. Aside from losing two, possibly three members, the Villains received a flint. Perhaps the most expensive flint in Survivor history.
