What Happened to Mercedes on My 600-lb Life?

Mercedes Cephas was featured on the TLC show "My 600-lb Life" in Season 7 in 2019. She was a 37-year-old mother of two from Cincinnati, Ohio, who weighed 773 lbs and was bedridden due to her severe lymphedema. Mercedes was putting her life and the well-being of her children in danger with her eating habits and lifestyle. When she met Dr. Nowzaradan, the show's specialist in bariatric surgery, he informed her that her condition had put her internal organs at risk.

Mercedes' food addiction was revealed to have started due to childhood trauma. Her father had repeatedly raped her since she was 11 years old and she and her sisters were constantly abused. To cope, Mercedes turned to food for comfort and solace. However, as she grew larger, the roles in her household reversed and her children had to take care of her instead.

During her journey with Dr. Now, Mercedes was uncooperative and was caught lying and complaining. She made constant excuses for not being able to achieve her goals and only lost 81 lbs, bringing her final weight to 692 lbs.

Where is Mercedes from My 600-lb Life Now?

Mercedes is not very active on social media, but her Facebook profile reveals that she is back in Cincinnati, which is a long way from Houston where she had been living for treatment. This indicates that she has left the care of Dr. Now and is no longer on his weight-loss program. Her profile also states that she is a stay-at-home mom.

From her recent posts, it doesn't seem like she has lost much weight. However, her current status and well-being are unknown as she is not very active on social media.
