From 1964 through 1981, with a brief reappearance in 1983, she portrayed Meg Mortimer in the enduring British soap series Crossroads. Gordon attended RADA and performed on West End stage and in repertory theatres. She performed in musical The Lisbon Story at the London Hippodrome from June 1943 to July 1944. She played Meg Brockie at Her Majesty's Theatre in original London production of Brigadoon in April 1949. She remained with the performance during a cross-country tour.
