Chris Licht, the CEO of CNN, announced cost-cutting measures in the beginning of December 2022. A victim of the measure is Morning Express With Robin Meade. As reported by Variety, the news organization, will be reducing open job positions, reimagining our workflows and aligning our staffing, investments and focus around three key strategic priorities: programming, newsgathering and digital. All decisions are designed to strengthen the core of our business.
The long-running programme hosted by the seasoned anchor will be replaced by CNN This Morning, preventing viewers from seeing Robin's face every morning. It was revealed that new episodes of Robin's programme would essentially stop being produced by CNN right away. The class act newswoman, whose salary the Daily Mail reported to be a staggering $3 million per year, bid her viewers farewell on December 5, 2022.

The long-running HLN programmes host Robin tweeted on Monday, December 5, 2022, "This is going to be the final hour of Morning Express. The post featured a video of Robin saying there were many goodbyes and "thank yous" to be said.
