Who Is Tony Angelo?
Tony Angelo was born on December 24, 1978, and is an American skilled drift racer and stunt driver. Tony previously drove in the Formula Drift series in his 2013 Scion FR-S for Scion Racing and is also the retired host for Motor Trend Channel's Hot Rod Garage. Tony started building and altering his cars as a teenager in his hometown of Doylestown, PA. In the late 90s, Tony was motivated to start drifting by Japanese videos and magazines. Tony started racing professionally in 2004 in Formula Drift's first year. He was fast seen as a force on the track. In 2005, Tony attained his D1 license by placing first in a national driver's search. After years in FD as a serious opponent, Tony took a crack at driving professionally in the U.S. in 2009 and evolved into a judge for Formula Drift. Tony is credited with altering the FD judging and scoring format for the better.

Why Did Tony Angelo Leave Hotrod Garage?
After 6 years and 100 episodes, I'm leaving the motor trend. It's been an incredible experience, and I'm proud of the work that I have done with hot rod garage and roadkill. I'm highly thankful to everyone at MT that put me in a position to succeed. This has been one of the great adventures of my life.
He says - I'm going to focus on shooting and making rad content out of my shop in OA full-time. I'm stoked to be home with the kids, build more, race and drift more, and have more fun. You will be able to watch all my new adventures on youtube, and there are some huge things in the works! My only regret is that I did not buy more cars.
