New characters in this adventure include Kihei Hanawa, a Daidoji faction handler; Homare Nishitani III, patriarch of the Kijin Clan; Kosei Shishido and Yuki Tsuruno of the Omi Alliance's Watase Family; Akame, an informant in Sotenbori; Yoshimura, a contemptuous Daidoji faction manager; the head priest of the Daidoji Temple; and the Boss, a shadowy high-ranking Daidoji officer. Familiar faces from previous Like a Dragon titles return, including Masaru Watase, Daigo Dojima, Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, Ichiban Kasuga, and Haruka Sawamura, enriching the narrative with their presence.
