Sons of the Forest Synopsis
In "Sons of the Forest," set years after "The Forest," a private military team hired by PuffCorp seeks Edward Puffton and his family on the mysterious "Site 2" island. After surviving a helicopter crash, the Contractor, identified as Jack Holt, and his deaf teammate Kelvin, navigate the wilderness, facing mutant cannibals and discovering PuffCorp's hidden agenda. The island harbors ancient artifacts and a golden ore coveted by PuffCorp in a clandestine competition with Sahara Therapeutics.
As the Contractor explores PuffCorp's facilities, revelations unfold about Edward and executives mutating into cannibals, along with the true nature of the Cube, an artifact capable of interdimensional travel. Encountering Virginia, a mutant maintaining her sanity, and the LeBlancs from "The Forest," the Contractor unveils the impending Cube activation causing mass mutations.
On the way to the Cube, they face aggressive mutants and reach the artifact, experiencing a vision of a futuristic city. Post-Cube activation, two endings emerge: one sees the Contractor stay behind on the island, while the other involves leaving with the LeBlancs, depending on player decisions during the intense final encounters.
