Two other roommates managed to survive this horrifying event, which drew national attention.
After an intense six-week search for a suspect, authorities arrested 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger on December 30. At the time of the murders, Kohberger was a Ph.D. student at nearby Washington State University, and he has not yet entered a plea.
The Goncalves family, known for their close-knit bond among their five children, expressed that they have not been able to establish any connection between their daughter and Kohberger. They also cast doubt on rumors suggesting that Kohberger had attended a party at the girls' home.
