His father, Koduri Siva Shakthi Datta, was a renowned lyricist and screenwriter in the Telugu film industry. Keeravani is the cousin of the famous director S. S. Rajamouli and the music composers M. M. Srilekha and Kalyani Malik. He is also the nephew of the well-known screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad. Keeravani's wife, M. M. Srivalli, works as a line producer in films. His elder son, Kaala Bhairava, is a singer and has sung for many of his father's compositions, including the popular song "Dandalayya." Keeravani's younger son, Sri Simha, made his debut as an actor in the 2019 film Mathu Vadalara.
