Marlon Vera, also known as Chito Vera, is a professional mixed martial artist from Ecuador. He fights in the Bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on December 2, 1992, in Chone, Ecuador, and grew up in a middle-class family with an older sister and brother. During his youth, he got into street fights, but at the age of 16, he started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in Guayaquil.
Marlon Vera's first official UFC fight was on November 15, 2014, against Marco Beltrán at UFC 180. Unfortunately, he lost that fight through a unanimous decision. In his next fight on August 8, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 73, he faced Roman Salazar and won by submission in the second round, earning a Performance of the Night bonus. However, he faced a loss in his fight against Davey Grant on February 27, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 84, where he also lost through a unanimous decision.

Marlon Vera was supposed to fight Cory Sandhagen on February 18, 2023, but the fight got moved to March 25 for some unknown reasons. Marlon Vera lost that fight in a close decision, with most experts thinking Sandhagen won.
Later, Marlon Vera was supposed to fight Henry Cejudo on August 19, 2023, but Cejudo got injured and couldn't fight. Pedro Munhoz took his place, and Marlon Vera won that fight by unanimous decision.
