This movie is the first ever movie to air directly on television during the corona period. The movie's story, especially its ending, received a mixed reaction from film critics and viewers. But the directorial focuses on the murder trial of a serial killer who strangles young girls to death and cuts off their feet to take them with him as his souvenirs.

This movie is a psychological thriller movie in which a serial killer cuts the beautiful legs of the girls after killing them brutely. The film is an inconclusive mystery that leaves viewers to even more apparent solutions as to who can be the killer in Footfairy. The story revolves around an Investigation Officer, Vivaan Deshmukh, who embarks on a journey to knock down a psycho killer. As the Pictures film title suggests, the serial killer in this film is referred to as 'Footfairy.' The title is given to the killer because of his eagerness to cut off the legs of the killer and take them with him. However, due to increasing pressure as the murders mount, Vivan zeroes in on Joshua Mathews (Kunal Roy Kapur). Joshua's unusual behaviour and mysterious absence make him a prime suspect in the Footfairy. But what Deshmukh does not have is hard evidence to capture the accused.
Footfairy Movie Ending Explained
At the end of Footfairy, after another murder, Vivan decides to break into Joshua's house and beats him mercilessly, making the latter accept his crime. Meanwhile, his department is awaiting the DNA results of the second. After being brutally beaten, Joshua mistakenly admits to being the 'Footfairy.' So Vivan decides to shoot him when his colleague stops him and reports that his results are 'inconclusive,' proving that Joshua is not the killer. Later, the film jumps 7 years as Devika is shown caring for her and Vivan's daughter. On the other hand, Vivaan flies to Mumbai to attend someone's funeral, where he reunites with his colleague Harsh. It is revealed that Vivan is moving to Bangalore after being asked to resign from his position because of Joshua's defamation case against him.
After saying goodbye to Harsh, Vivan goes to the scene of the murder, where a boy reveals to him that another person has visited and told him about the red suitcase he kept there years ago. When asked where the unknown person is going, the child points to the railroad tracks, with the camera zooming forward with an open ending. Besides highlighting the serial killer's obscure fetish, this movie has not revealed the killer yet. Footfairy also shows the CBI officer's obsession with finding the culprit.

As the climax scene shows that Vivan is just looking at the train that leaves, we get the information that the killer is once again lost and never captured. Footfairy is the debut movie of Kanishk Varma as the director, but he made sure to leave the audience at the end of the cliff with such a climax. The killer from the movie hasn't been revealed yet. The movie is available on Netflix. It got many critical acclamation and positive reviews. Although the killer is not revealed, the movie is worth watching.
