Tommaso Antonio Conti is the original name of Tom Conti and he was born on November 22, 1941, in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Tom Conti is a Scottish actor, novelist, and theatre director. In 1979, he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his outstanding performance in Whose Life Is It Anyway? Additionally, he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 1983 movie Reuben, Reuben. 

Tom Conti is a versatile actor who has worked in theatre, films, and television. He started his acting career in 1959 with the Dundee Repertory Theatre. He played the lead role in Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell at the Garrick Theatre in London and appeared in Whose Life Is It Anyway? on Broadway in 1979.

In addition to his theatre work, Conti has acted in numerous TV shows and movies. He starred in the TV versions of The Glittering Prizes and The Norman Conquests, as well as in the "Princess and the Pea" episode of Faerie Tale Theatre. In September 2021, it was announced that Christopher Nolan would write and direct a biographical film set during World War II about J. Robert Oppenheimer, with Universal Pictures chosen as the distributor. Most of the main cast members, including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Hartnett, and Kenneth Branagh, signed on between September 2021 and April 2022. Pre-production began in January 2022, and filming started in late February of that year, wrapping up in May. The movie was shot using a combination of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film and includes sections in IMAX black-and-white analog photography for the first time. As with Nolan's previous works, practical effects were heavily used, and computer-generated imagery was kept to a minimum.
