Despite this security, some users may still have concerns about their privacy and choose to disable the gray or blue ticks. By doing so, they can read messages without triggering the blue tick, which can be useful when they are not interested in responding immediately or prefer to read messages without sending a reply.

Why Blue Tick is Not Showing in Whatsapp? 

Missing read receipts    

• Read receipts may be disabled in the privacy settings by either you or your recipient.
• It's possible that the recipient has blocked you, which could be the reason for not seeing the blue tick in your messages.
• The recipient may not have opened your conversation yet, which means the message has not been marked as read.
• Connection issues may also prevent the blue tick from appearing in your messages, either on your end or the recipient's end.

Turn off read receipts  

• To disable read receipts in WhatsApp, tap on "More options".
• Next, go to "Settings" and then "Privacy".
• Turn off "Read receipts".
• It's important to note that this won't turn off read receipts for group chats or play receipts for voice messages.
• Unfortunately, there's no way to turn off these settings.

• How many times the message has been delivered.
• When the message was delivered.
• When the message was read (if applicable).
• Which group members have read the message (if applicable).

Delivered:

• Your message has been successfully delivered to your recipient's phone or linked devices.
• However, your recipient hasn't seen your message yet.

Read or Seen:

• Your message or media file has been viewed by the recipient.
• The recipient has not yet played your voice message, but has seen it.

Played:

• The recipient has listened to your voice message.
