Why Did Jerry Springer and Wife Micki Velton Divorce?

Jerry Springer has kept quiet about his marriage to his ex-wife, Micki Velton, and their divorce. Reportedly, they met on a blind date in 1969, while Springer was campaigning for a seat in the Cincinnati City Council, and Velton worked as an administrative aid for Procter & Gamble.

They dated for four years before marrying in 1973. However, they eventually divorced in 1994 after a 21-year-long marriage. Some of Springer's fans speculated that his involvement with sex workers might have led to their divorce, but there is no evidence to support this claim.

It is more likely that they simply grew apart over the years, as they had both married at a young age. Currently, it is unknown what Velton does for a living or whether she lives near Springer in Chicago. She is currently 77 years old and has not made any public statements regarding Springer's death.

Did Jerry Springer Remarry?

It is not clear if Jerry Springer got remarried after his divorce as he did not make any public announcements about it. Although it is highly unlikely that he secretly tied the knot.  During an interview with HollywoodLife in 2021, Springer mentioned having a wife, but it's unclear if he meant a current spouse or someone he was dating at the time.

He joked about doing a tour of nursing homes when he was 96 and mentioned that he and his wife were looking for a suitable place with a social program. It's possible that he may have been referring to a romantic partner, but there is no concrete evidence to suggest that he was remarried.
