Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an action role-playing game released in 2022, developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Critics received Xenoblade Chronicles 3 positively, praising its compelling story, thematic depth, engaging gameplay, captivating music, well-developed characters, and expansive world. However, some criticism was directed at the game's technical and graphical issues during its initial release. Nonetheless, the game garnered commercial success, selling 1.86 million copies by March 2023.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 offers an expansive open world to explore, a departure from its predecessors. Players can now have up to seven party members, including the main party and an additional "Hero" character, engaging in battles simultaneously.
The game introduces the Interlink system, allowing specific pairs of characters to merge into the powerful Ouroboros form, equipped with unique and formidable moves. Additionally, the Chain Attack mechanic makes a return, enabling players to chain multiple attacks together for extra damage.
In combat, players can manually control the lead character in real-time, while party members "auto-attack" when enemies come within their attack range. Each character utilizes special abilities called "Arts," with different effects based on their position relative to the enemy.
The game features a variety of character classes, falling under three main roles: "Defenders," "Attackers," and "Healers," each offering distinct fighting styles and abilities. As characters gain experience, they can also earn Class Points (CP) to increase their class mastery level, unlocking powerful Master Arts and Fusion Arts when combined with other classes.
One of the defining features is the Interlink system, allowing certain character pairs to fuse into the Ouroboros form. However, this form is limited by the Heat gauge, requiring strategic use of Fusion Arts to manage its consumption effectively. Additionally, the game employs a day-and-night time cycle, impacting in-game events and quest availability. Players can now utilize a quest navigation mode, which marks a path on the ground to guide them towards their destination.
The game's tutorial system is improved, providing players with archived tips in the options menu and the ability to redo combat tutorials through Training Drills. Within Aionios, the nations of Keves and Agnus find themselves locked in perpetual warfare, a conflict that takes place within colonies, each governed by giant metal mechs known as Ferronis. Fallen enemy soldiers' life force is ensnared in a Flame Clock, adding a haunting dimension to the ongoing battles.
The narrative revolves around six central characters, all empowered by the mystical force of Ouroboros. The protagonists are Noah, an off-seer from Keves, accompanied by his childhood friends Lanz and Eunie, and Mio, an off-seer from Agnus, accompanied by her fellow servicemen Taion and Sena. The Nopon support members, Kevesi mechanic Riku and Agnian chef Manana complete the formidable group.
Throughout their epic journey, the characters unravel the enigma of the perpetual war and the nature of their world. Major characters include the Vandhams, leaders of the Lost Numbers freedom fighters, Melia Antiqua from Xenoblade Chronicles, and Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the queens of Keves and Agnus, respectively. Moreover, the enigmatic organization Moebius, orchestrating the war, consists of powerful beings known as Consuls, each identified by a single letter, with Z serving as their leader.
Future Redeemed Expansion:
The downloadable story expansion, Future Redeemed, offers an intriguing prequel to the main game. Set in the Cent-Omnia region of Aionios, unexplored in the main storyline, it follows the events before the original City's destruction. The narrative revolves around Matthew Vandham and A, who search for survivors of the City's demise. The expansion also includes Shulk and Rex, the protagonists of Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, leading an anti-Moebius group called The Liberators.
Together, they strive to confront Alpha, an artificial intelligence derived from Alvis, who seeks to control Origin and shape a new world. The conflict escalates as Matthew's sister Na'el becomes entangled in Alpha's schemes. As events unfold, the characters engage in intense battles and confrontations, leading to a climactic showdown within Origin itself.

The update increases the percentage chance to re-acquire Battle Manuals, Tactics Manuals, and Strategy Manuals. It also fixes issues related to re-attempting the final battle after a party wipe and completing the Chapter 2 quest, "Pursue Glimmer," which was causing problems for some players.
