Don't be afraid to break weapons

Get those Zonai devices
During your time on Great Sky Island, you'll encounter Zonai Dispensers, which are essentially gacha machines that dispense Zonai device capsules in exchange for Zonai Charges. It's highly recommended to spend your Zonai Charges on these capsules early on, as they enable you to construct vehicles with ease.
The Device Dispenser on Great Sky Island can grant you access to Flame Emitters, Wings, Fans, and Portable Pots. Flame Emitters are ideal for crafting powerful weapons, while Wings and Fans are great for navigating challenging terrain. Portable Pots serve as mobile cooking pots that can be used once, making them incredibly useful in situations where no cooking pot or fire is readily available.
Explore every cave and well
In Hyrule, there are numerous caves and wells that contain valuable resources, including materials, weapons, and monsters that drop even more potent loot. These underground locations are also where you can find Bomb Flowers, gems, Brightbloom Seeds, and creatures like frogs and lizards that are useful for creating elixirs. Some caves even harbor fairies that can replenish your health.
Eventually, you'll receive a quest that tasks you with locating every well in Hyrule. If you're someone who loves exploring, this quest is an excellent opportunity to earn some extra cash, as the Well Enthusiast will reward you with 10 Rupees for each well you discover.
Don't forget about Ascend
Although Recall, Ultrahand, and Fuse are more frequently used than Ascend, the latter is arguably the most useful ability that Link has gained in Tears of the Kingdom. If you find yourself stuck in a cave, Ascend can be used to help you get out. If you need to sneak up on an enemy from above, Ascend can come in handy. Additionally, when you spot gray blocks on a mountain or wall, Ascend is the ability to use.

Sell your gems
While gems can be used to create elemental weapons, they don't add much attack power to your weapons in the early game. You can easily find precious stones in mineral rocks located in caves and wells across Hyrule. Each precious stone has its own value when sold:
Save your Zonaite
Zonaite is a highly prized material that can be used to upgrade your Energy Cells, the power source for Zonai Devices. Although it's a rare material, you can buy Crystallized Charges with it at the Forge Construct on Great Sky Island. These charges can then be used to upgrade your Energy Cells at the Crystal Refinery, which you can access by warping to Nachoyah Shrine. It's recommended not to sell Zonaite for Rupees as Energy Cells will become more important later in the game.
Get a horse
Although you can construct intricate machines later on in Tears of the Kingdom, nothing beats having a trusty horse to rely on at the start of the game.
In Central Hyrule and beyond, horses can be spotted grazing in the fields. To capture one, you can employ the same technique as in Breath of the Wild — sneak up on them and press 'A' when you're close enough to mount. Pat them with the 'L' button, and off you go. Horses are a secure mode of transportation, as they typically stick to the roads of Hyrule.
