The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is conducting a recruitment drive for Junior Engineer (Mechanical) positions under the joint cadre of the Public Works Roads Department and the Public Works (Bldg. & NH) Department. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 80 vacancies across various categories.

Scale of Pay

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Applicants must be Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
• Residency: Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam.
• Domicile Proof: Valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
• Education Qualification: Candidates must possess a Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from any technical institute recognized by the Government. Only regular diploma courses are accepted; diplomas obtained through Distance Mode of Education will not be considered.
• Language Proficiency: Apart from English, candidates should have adequate knowledge of at least one official language of the State of Assam (i.e., Assamese/Bengali/Bodo).
• Age Limit: Applicants should be between 18 and 38 years of age as of 01/01/2024.

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: Up to 43 years
• OBC/MOBC: Up to 41 years
• Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): Up to 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Up to 55 years (depending on category)
