APSC Recruitment 2024

The Assam Public Service Commission invites applications from Indian citizens, as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India, for the following positions under the Assam Government. These roles are based in the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (I.A.S.E.) and College of Teacher Education (C.T.E.) under the Directorate of SCERT, Assam. The positions offer the pay scale and allowances as per Assam Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Position Title: Lecturer, I.A.S.E.
  • Number of Posts: 19
  • Scale of Pay: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- per month
  • Grade Pay: Rs. 13,300/-
  • Pay Band: Pay Band - 4
  • Allowances: Other allowances as applicable to Assam State Government employees

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years of age as of 01/01/2024. Age relaxation is as follows:

(i) SC/ST candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5 years, making the maximum age 43 years;

(ii) OBC/MOBC candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 3 years, making the maximum age 41 years, as per Government Notification No. ABP. 6/2016/9 dated 25th April 2018;

(iii) Persons with benchmark disabilities (PWBD) are eligible for a relaxation of 10 years, regardless of their SC/ST/OBC or Unreserved category, as per Government Memorandum No. ABP 180/2017/105 dated 7th January 2019.

Age will be determined based on the date of birth reflected in the Class X/Class XII examination admit card, pass certificate, or marksheet issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council.

Essential Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in Geography: Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized university.
  • M.Ed.: Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized university.
  • NET/SLET: Must have cleared NET/SLET from UGC or hold a Ph.D. in Education or the concerned subject from a recognized university. (Please upload all relevant semester/year mark sheets and the final pass certificate.)

Experience/Preference:

  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in Secondary School/TEL.
  • Proficiency in using ICT for educational purposes.
  • Ph.D. in Education from a recognized university.
