BIS invites applications from scientists or technologists employed in Central or State Government, universities, recognized research institutions, statutory or autonomous organizations, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to fill 03 vacancies on a deputation basis in the field of Agriculture.

Educational Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from a recognized university or institution.
  • Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines, with 60% marks (50% for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes):

    • Agronomy
    • Soil Sciences / Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry
    • Agricultural Entomology / Entomology
    • Agricultural Chemicals / Chemistry

Desirable Qualification:

  • Doctorate degree from a recognized university or institution.

Experience Details

  • Holding an analogous post on a regular basis;
  • Or having five years of service in Level 10 (Rs. 56,100-177,500) in the pay matrix or equivalent;
  • Four years of experience in Standardization, Quality Assurance, Testing, Production, Design, or Research;
  • Holding an analogous post on a regular basis;
  • Or having five years of service in Level 11 (Rs. 67,700-208,700) in the pay matrix or equivalent;
  • Eight years of experience in Standardization, Quality Assurance, Testing, Production, Design, or Research.

Emoluments

Level- 11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC for Scientist- C, Level -12 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC for Scientist-D, D.A., HRA and Transport allowance at Central Govt. rates. Other benefits include Pension contribution, Gratuity, Medical reimbursement and LTC as per rules of the Bureau.

Documents Required

  • Proof of Date of Birth (acceptable documents: Matriculation certificate, High School certificate, or Birth Certificate issued by the appropriate Local Authority indicating Date of Birth).
  • All certificates and testimonials related to qualifications, including semester/year-wise mark sheets and degree certificates from Graduation onwards.
  • Experience certificates or documents issued by the employer to support the experience details provided in the application form.
  • Forwarding letter from the employer including:
  • Photocopies of complete APAR/ACR dossiers for the last 5 years, attested by officers not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent.
  • Vigilance Clearance/Certificate.
  • Cadre Clearance.
  • Integrity Clearance/Certificate.
  • Statement of major/minor penalties, if any, imposed on the officer during the last 10 years.

Selection Process

  • Candidates who meet the essential qualifications, experience, and age criteria will be eligible for the post.
  • The selection process will include an initial screening of applications by a Screening Committee.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview conducted by a Selection Committee.
  • The interview schedule will be posted on the BIS website at www.bis.gov.in. Interviews will take place at the BIS Headquarters in New Delhi.
  • Final selection will be based on merit.
  • Candidates are advised to regularly check the BIS website for updates and important information throughout the selection process.

How to Apply

  • Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the post, regardless of category, should submit their applications through the proper channel using the prescribed format provided.
  • Applications must be sent to "Head (HRD), Bureau of Indian Standards, Manak Bhavan, 9 Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi – 110002," along with self-attested photocopies of relevant documents.
  • Applications should be sent exclusively via Registered Post or Speed Post, with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the post of Scientist-C / Scientist-D” in the right-hand corner.
  • Applications will be accepted from 10.08.2024, and the final deadline is 23.09.2024. Applications received after this date will not be considered under any circumstances.
  • Original documents are not required to be sent to the Bureau at this stage unless specifically requested. Note that departmental candidates of BIS are not eligible to apply for the post on deputation.
