CAT 2024 Exam Date

The CAT 2024 exam, administered by IIM Calcutta, is scheduled to take place on November 24, 2024. It will be conducted in three sessions across multiple cities in India. Candidates can choose from three-time slots: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, and 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

The exam will consist of multiple-choice and non-MCQ questions spanning three sections: Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR). Aspiring MBA students must complete their registration between the first week of August and September 21, 2024, via the official CAT website iimcat.ac.in

Eligibility 

The eligibility criteria for the CAT 2024 exam are as follows:

• Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST/PwD categories).
• The bachelor’s degree should be from a recognized university or institution.
• Final-year students of bachelor’s degree programs are also eligible to apply.
• Candidates with professional degrees like CA/CS/ICWA are eligible if they meet the percentage criteria.
• There is no age limit to apply for CAT 2024.

Fees for Registration

The registration fees for CAT 2024 are as follows:

• For General category candidates: Rs. 2400
• For SC, ST, and PwD category candidates: Rs. 1200
• Payment can be made online using credit/debit cards or net banking during the registration process on the official CAT website.

These fees are applicable for candidates registering to appear in the CAT 2024 exam, which covers the administrative costs associated with conducting the test.

Pattern for Exam

Admit Card

• Only registered candidates who have paid the CAT processing fee can download the CAT 2024 admit card.
• Access the admit card by logging into the official IIM CAT website, iimcat.ac.in, using your ID and password.
• The admit card contains crucial details such as the test center, exam date, and other pertinent examination information.
• Verify all information on the admit card for accuracy upon downloading.
• In case of any discrepancies found on the admit card, promptly inform the authorities for rectification.

Registration Procedure

The registration procedure for CAT 2024:

• Visit the official CAT website iimcat.ac.in.
• Click on the "New Registration" link.
• Fill in personal details such as name, date of birth, contact number, and email address.
• Receive an OTP on the registered mobile number for verification.
• Use the OTP to complete the registration and receive your CAT 2024 ID and password.
• Log in with the provided credentials to access the application form.
• Fill in academic details, including marks obtained in graduation.
• Upload scanned copies of passport-size photographs and signatures as per specifications.
• Select preferred exam centers from the available list.
• Pay the registration fee online via credit/debit card or net banking.
• After successful payment, take a printout of the registration confirmation for future reference.
