CMRL Recruitment 2024
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a Joint Venture between the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) responsible for executing the Metro Rail Project in Chennai. CMRL is seeking applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the following position, available on a contract basis.
Qualification and Experience
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) degree from a government-recognized institute or university accredited by AICTE/UGC.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience for the Junior General Manager (JGM) position or 13 years for the Deputy General Manager (DGM) position, with significant experience in architectural design for large infrastructure projects.
- At least 8 years of this experience should be in Metro Rail or Railway projects.
- Familiarity with design aspects related to life safety and fire safety, as well as knowledge of NBC, NFPA 130, and NFPA 101, is essential.
- Experience in designing and constructing various architectural finishes for room layouts and station signage is required.
- Proficiency in design software such as CADD and Revit is mandatory, while skills in Photoshop, 3D Max, and other equivalent software are preferable.
Age Limit
- Maximum age in Years JGM (Architect) - 43 years, DGM (Architect) - 40 years.
- Age, qualification & experience stipulated for the above post should be as on 07-08-2024. Age will be relaxed for deserving and experienced candidates.
- Higher remuneration / Higher post shall be considered based on the past experience, performance in the interview, higher qualification, exceptional credentials and expertise in the relevant field. Salary is negotiable for deserving candidates.
- Apart from the consolidated pay, benefits like Medical & Personal Accident Insurance, Life Insurance, Mobile Phone reimbursement & Sim Card for official use and other admissible allowances applicable as per the extant rules of CMRL HR policy shall be paid.
Selection process
The selection process consists of two stages: an interview followed by a medical examination. Candidates will be evaluated based on their knowledge, skills, comprehension, attitude, aptitude, and physical fitness.
Medical Examination:
- CMRL will cover the cost of the initial medical examination. However, if a candidate requests an extension for joining, they will need to cover the cost of any subsequent medical examinations.
- Candidates are also responsible for their travel expenses to and from the medical test.
- Failure to pass the prescribed medical test will result in disqualification from employment, and CMRL's decision on this matter will be final.
Application Fee
- Unreserved and candidates from other categories must pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 300/-, while SC/ST candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 50/- (for processing charges). Payments should be made online via electronic transfer to the account provided, and the NEFT/UPI payment receipt or acknowledgment must be uploaded with the online application form.
- Differently Abled persons are exempt from the application fee but must upload their disability certificate online with their application.
- Please note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Candidates should ensure their eligibility and adhere to the application deadline before making the payment.
Procedure to apply online
Step 1: Register on the CMRL Career portal using a valid email ID. This email ID will be used for all future communications from CMRL.
Step 2: A registration link will be sent to your registered email. Click the verification button to authenticate your email. After verification, you will be redirected to the CMRL career page to log in and apply.
Step 3: Complete all sections of the application form and upload the required documents as specified in the notification to verify the details provided.
How to Apply
- Candidates should carefully read the advertisement and ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying. Eligibility will be confirmed only if the candidate is shortlisted.
- Applications must be submitted online through the CMRL Careers section at https://careers.chennaimetrorail.org/.
- Application scrutiny for shortlisting will be based solely on the documents and certificates uploaded during online submission.
- Any detection of non-compliance with eligibility criteria, incorrect information, false details, or fake documents at any stage of the recruitment process will lead to rejection of the candidature. Discrepancies found even after appointment may result in termination of services without notice.
- Hard copy or paper applications will not be accepted. Candidates should not send hard copies to the office.
