Eligibility Criteria

JGM (Safety):

  • Government Officers: Central/State Govt. officers in the same grade (Level-13) or Junior Administrative Grade (Level-12) with 8-12 years of service in Group A.
  • PSU Employees: Working in the same grade or in the pay scale of Rs. 80000-220000 (IDA) with four years of service in that grade.

DGM (Safety):

  • Government Officers: Central/State Govt. officers in Sr. Scale (Level-11) or officers with 10 years of service in Group B and holding posts in Level 10.
  • PSU Employees: Working in the same grade or in the pay scale of Rs. 70000-200000 (IDA) with four years of service in that grade.

Age Limit:

Not more than 55 years.

Job Description

  • Report to CGM and assist in enforcing safety instructions.
  • Attend accident sites and ensure the preservation of accident investigation clues.
  • Compile accident statistics and analyze trends.
  • Monitor D&AR cases arising from accidents and review the adequacy of punishments.
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure safe maintenance and operational practices.
  • Conduct safety checks on operation and maintenance branches, including track machines, points and crossings, and stations.
  • Perform joint safety inspections, audits, and inquiries with officers from different departments.
  • Prepare and circulate safety circulars, bulletins, and posters.
  • Launch safety drives based on unusual incidents in the units.
  • Conduct safety inspections of various establishments.
  • Monitor the working of safety counselors from different departments.
  • Coordinate disaster management systems, relief, and restoration efforts.
  • Preference is given to officers with experience as DSO/ADSO on Indian Railways.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, MS Office, letter drafting, and statistics analysis is preferred.
