Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) is a government-run university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It's situated in Chak Ganjaria City and is linked with medical, dental, paramedical, and nursing colleges throughout the state. The university was established by a law in 2018, but it started working officially in 2020 when it hired its first vice-chancellor.
The idea for ABVMU began in about 2018, and they started building it in 2019. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, put down the first stone for it on December 25, 2019.The university opened fully in the 2021–22 academic year due to COVID-19, starting at Vibhuti Khand, Lucknow.
ABVMU is starting with a new auditorium and admin building. Next, they'll build a hospital and more classrooms. The State's medical education department is managing this with help from construction companies.
