Online Recruitment Applications (ORA) are invited from eligible candidates for the recruitment to fill 01 (One) post of Assistant Director (Digital Forensic), Class-I (Gazetted) on a contract basis as per the prescribed R&P Rules in the Directorate of Forensic Science, Home Department, H.P.

Qualification Details
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 2nd Class Master's Degree in one of the following disciplines from a recognized University:
- Forensic Science
- Digital Forensic and Cyber Security
- Master of Computer Application (MCA)
- Degree in Engineering with specialization in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology (IT), or Electronic Communication Engineering.
- Post-qualification seven years of analytical experience in the field of digital evidence from any recognized laboratory or institute. Research work undertaken for a Ph.D. degree will be considered part of total experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree with experience in working on digital evidence.
- Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, and suitability for appointment in the specific conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.
- 2nd Class Master's Degree specifically in Digital Forensic and Cyber Security.

Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 to 45 years of age as on 01-01-2024.
Upper age limit relaxation:
5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Children/Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh, as per government declarations. Age relaxation is applicable only if there are reserved posts for these categories.
List of documents
- Matriculation certificate for age proof.
- Degree certificates and Marks Sheets showing all years or Consolidated mark sheet for educational qualifications.
- Experience certificate(s) where applicable.
- Valid category certificate(s) such as SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen, along with discharge book, Ward of Ex. Servicemen, WFF, and Persons with benchmark disabilities. Certificates must be on the prescribed Proforma by the Government of H.P.
- Bonafide Himachali Certificate for reserved category candidates.
- Valid EWS/BPL Certificate (candidates under EWS category must submit Income & Asset Certificate or valid BPL Certificate countersigned by B.D.O. along with non-SC/ST/OBC certificate).
- Ex. Servicemen Discharge Certificate/Service Book, including full details of P.P.O. No., Rank, and NOC with date of retirement for claiming reservation benefits under Ex-Servicemen category in Himachal Pradesh.
Selection Process

Paper-1: Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test
- Duration: 1 hour
- Total Marks: 100
- Type: Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Negative Marking: Yes, for incorrect/wrong answers
- General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh: 30 Marks
- General knowledge of National and International Affairs: 30 Marks
- Knowledge of Hindi language: 20 Marks
- Knowledge of English language: 20 Marks
Paper-II: Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT)
- Duration: 3 hours
- Total Marks: 120
- Type: Descriptive questions
- Syllabus: To be decided by the Commission from time to time
- Conduct:
- The test will be conducted in a single slot with the same question paper.
- In different slots, different sets of question papers may be provided based on the number of candidates and computer terminals available.
- Both Paper-1 and Paper-II will be conducted on the same day, in morning and evening sessions, at various locations in Himachal Pradesh as determined by the Commission.

- Apply online through the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) at http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc.
- Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted and will be rejected.
- Detailed instructions for filling the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) are available on the HPPSC website at http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc.
- Visit the official website and click on "Apply Online" on the Home Page.
- Click on "One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations" and register or login to create your profile by clicking on "New Registration" if not already registered.
- After logging in, candidates will see a list of live advertisements on their dashboard.
- Apply for the Assistant Director (Digital Forensic) post through the portal. Ensure all required documents are uploaded as per the advertisement.
- Before submitting the application, provide an undertaking/declaration that all uploaded documents are legible, readable, and true. Agree not to object to rejection of candidature based on document quality.
- No further opportunity will be given for document submission after the online application is submitted.
- The application is considered successfully submitted only after the fee payment is acknowledged and credited to the Commission's account.
- Once submitted, no changes can be made to the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) except for category change as per the procedure in Rule 5(iv) of HPPSC (Procedure and Transaction of Business) Rules, 2023.
- Ensure that the online application includes scanned latest photograph and signature; applications without these will be rejected.
