IAF Recruitment 2024

The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications from unmarried Indian men and women for the Agniveervayu recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme for 2024. Online registration is open from July 8 to July 28, 2024, and the exam starts on October 18, 2024.

This recruitment provides a chance for young people to experience military life for four years. Applicants must be born between July 3, 2004, and January 3, 2008, and meet specific educational and physical standards. The IAF emphasizes that the selection process is fair, transparent, and based solely on merit.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  1. For Agniveervayu (Science Subjects):

    • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Education Board.
    • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  2. For Agniveervayu (Other Than Science Subjects):

    • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards.
    • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  3. Diploma Holders (All Streams):

    • Three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic Institute.
    • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).
  4. Vocational Course Holders:

    • Two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects like Physics and Mathematics from State Education Boards/Councils listed in COBSE.
    • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Selection Process

Online Test (Phase I):

  • Candidates will undergo an online test covering topics such as Physics, Mathematics, and English as per educational qualification.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

  • Qualified candidates from the online test will undergo PFT which includes running, push-ups, and sit-ups.

Adaptability Test-1 (For Agniveervayu):

  • Candidates who pass the PFT will appear for Adaptability Test-1 which assesses adaptability in varied terrains, physical endurance, and teamwork.

Adaptability Test-2 (For Agniveervayu):

  • Those clearing Adaptability Test-1 will undertake Adaptability Test-2 to evaluate adaptability in situations requiring quick decision-making.

Medical Examination:

  • Candidates who qualify for all tests will undergo a medical examination conducted by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.

Final Selection:

  • Final selection is based on a merit list prepared after combining marks of Phase I (online test), PFT, and all subsequent tests.

How to Apply?

  • Visit agnipathvayu.cdac.in to access the online application portal.
  • Fill out the application form with accurate personal details and educational information.
  • Upload scanned copies of required documents: Class 10th passing certificate, Intermediate/10+2 marks sheet, or relevant diploma/vocational course certificates.
  • Upload a recent passport-sized photograph (10 KB to 50 KB) with specific guidelines (no facemask, light background, holding a black slate).
  • Upload left-hand thumb impression image (10 KB to 50 KB), candidate's signature image (10 KB to 50 KB), and parent's/guardian's signature image (if applicable).
  • Pay the examination fee of Rs. 550/- plus GST online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, or Internet Banking.
  • Follow the instructions on the payment gateway for a successful transaction and keep the transaction details for future reference.
