Indian Army Dental Corps Recruitment 2024

Indian citizens, both men and women, who have passed their final BDS exam and completed their mandatory internship, are invited to apply for the Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Army Dental Corps. Those with a Post-Graduate degree (MDS) can also apply.

Eligibility Criteria

Citizenship

The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit

The maximum age for SSC is 45 years as of December 31, 2024.

Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a BDS or MDS degree from a college/university recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI) for the year they graduated.
  • The candidate must be registered as a Dental Practitioner with any State Dental Council.
  • The candidate must have scored at least 55% in the final year of BDS (overall in all subjects) or have an MDS degree.

Internship

  • The candidate must have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship by June 30, 2024.
  • Exceptions for the one-year internship requirement:
    1. Students from the 2007-2008 batch who completed a 4.5-year BDS course with a 6-month internship.
    2. Students from the 2006-2007 batch at Rajah Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University, who completed a 5-year BDS course without an internship.

Registration Certificate

The candidate must have a valid permanent or provisional Dental Registration certificate from a State Dental Council or DCI, valid at least until December 31, 2024.

NEET (MDS) 2024

The candidate must have appeared in the NEET (MDS) 2024 exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) on March 18, 2024.

How to Apply?

The application form for the Short Service Commission in the Army Dental Corps - 2024 is available online. To fill out the form, please visit our website joinindianarmy.nic.in. You need to submit the following documents along with your application form:

  1. Proof of Age: Matriculation (Class X)/SSLC/ICSE certificate or a birth certificate issued by the municipality.
  2. NEET (MDS) – 2024 Admit Card.
  3. NEET (MDS) – 2024 Score Card.
  4. Final Year BDS Mark Sheets (Part I & Part II if the final exam is held in two parts). You must have secured at least 55% in the final BDS or have an MDS degree (upload both documents as a single file).
  5. BDS/MDS Provisional Pass Certificate or Degree Certificate.
  6. Certificate of completion for the Compulsory Rotatory Internship, or a certificate from the Principal/Dean stating the date of completion of the internship.
  7. Permanent/Provisional State Dental Council registration certificate, valid up to December 31, 2024.
  8. Valid passport/Nationality Certificate/Domicile/Nativity Certificate or voter ID card issued by the Election Commission of India.
  9. If your name changed after Matriculation (10th Class), a notification or document highlighting the name change.
  10. No Objection Certificate from your current employer, if applicable.
  11. Pages 16/17 of the information brochure, self-certified, applicable to BDS/MDS qualified candidates.
  12. Upload a photograph with the application form. If shortlisted for a medical examination, you will need five additional passport-size photos in hard copy on the interview day.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure is as follows,

Screening for Interview

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their scores in the NEET (MDS)-2024 exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi. The top candidates will be screened in a ratio of 1:10, meaning ten candidates will be called for each available vacancy.

Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to New Delhi to appear before a Selection Board for an interview to assess their suitability and merit for the Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Army Dental Corps. The final merit list will be based solely on interview performance. Candidates who qualify in the interview will then undergo a medical examination.

Medical Examination

Candidates on the provisional merit list must undergo a detailed medical examination to determine their fitness. The decision of the Medical Board will be final.
