Essential Qualifying Requirements

  • AC Refrigeration Mechanic (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
  • Chipper Grinder (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Compressor Attendant (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Millwright Mechanic or Machine Tool Maintenance, and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Diesel Cum Motor Mechanic (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Diesel or Motor Vehicle Mechanic.
  • Driver (Skilled Gr–I): SSC with National Apprenticeship Certificate in Driver cum Fitter, or equivalent military service, with valid Light & Heavy Duty driving license.
  • Electric Crane Operator (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Electrician trade and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Electrician (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Electrician trade and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Electronic Mechanic (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Electronic Mechanic and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Fitter (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Fitter or related trade, or 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Hindi Translator (Skilled Gr–I): Post Graduation in Hindi or English with one year of translation experience and computer knowledge.
  • Junior Draughtsman (Mechanical) (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Draughtsman (Mechanical).
  • Junior Quality Control Inspector (Mechanical) (Skilled Gr–I): Full-time Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Junior Quality Control Inspector (Electrical) (Skilled Gr–I): Full-time Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Junior Planner Estimator (Civil) (Skilled Gr–I): Full-time Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Millwright Mechanic (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Millwright Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Painter (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Painter and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Pipe Fitter (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Pipe Fitter or related trade, and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Rigger (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Rigger; if unavailable, SSC with Fitter NAC as Trainee Rigger.
  • Store Keeper (Skilled Gr–I): Full-time Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields. Additional qualifications in Material Management preferred.
  • Structural Fabricator (Skilled Gr–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate in Structural Fabricator or related trade, or 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Fire Fighter (Semi-Skilled–I): SSC with Fire Fighting Diploma (6 months) and a valid Heavy Duty Vehicle License.
  • Sail Maker (Semi-Skilled–I): ITI/NAC in Cutting & Tailoring or related fields.
  • Security Sepoy (Semi-Skilled–I): SSC or equivalent with military service of at least 15 years. Security duties experience and commercial driving license preferred.
  • Utility Hand (Semi-Skilled) (Semi-Skilled–I): National Apprenticeship Certificate and 1 year of shipbuilding experience.
  • Master 1st Class (Special Grade): 1st Class Master Certificate, 3 years of operating Tugs experience, or ex-serviceman with equivalent certification.

Emoluments

Selected candidates will be offered the following pay scales:

  • Special Grade (IDA-IX): ₹22,000 - ₹83,180
  • Skilled Grade-I (IDA-V): ₹17,000 - ₹64,360
  • Semi-Skilled Grade-I (IDA-II): ₹13,200 - ₹49,910

In addition to the basic pay, employees will receive industrial DA, HRA, CPF, and other allowances as per company rules. Annual increments will be granted according to company policy.

Candidates will be covered under the ESIC Act for medical benefits. If they are exempt from ESIS coverage due to higher wages, they will be included in the company's medical benefit scheme for themselves and eligible family members.

Age Limit

Maximum age limit is 38 years and minimum age limit and should not be less than 18 years as on 01 Sept ’24. Maximum age limit is 48 years for Master Ist Class trade. Relaxation in upper age limit is 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer Certificate certificate) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates as per rules.

Relaxation in upper age limit for persons with disability (40% and above) 10 years for General candidates, 13 years for OBC candidates and 15 years for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. Rules.

Selection Process

a. Written Test: Candidates will be invited for a written test based on the details provided in their online application. Detailed document verification will occur during the Trade/Skill Test for shortlisted candidates.

b. Trade/Skill Test: Candidates will be called for the Trade/Skill Test based on their performance in the written test and applicable experience marks. The ratio for calling candidates will be:

  • 1:3 if vacancies exceed 100
  • 1:4 if vacancies are between 50 and 100
  • 1:5 if vacancies are fewer than 50

c. Final Merit List: The final merit list will be based on the combined scores from the Online Written Test and Experience Marks (if applicable). The Trade/Skill Test will be qualifying in nature only.

d. Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of a tie in the final merit list:

  • Candidates with higher experience marks will be placed higher.
  • Older candidates (by Date/Month/Year of Birth) will be ranked higher.

e. Possible Changes: Management may opt to skip the Written Test and select candidates based solely on Experience and Trade/Skill Test, depending on the number of applicants.

f. Waiting List: A waiting list may be created depending on the number of selected candidates. This list will be used if any candidate resigns, passes away, declines to join, or is declared medically unfit. The waiting list will remain valid for one year from the date of approval.

g. Exhaustion of Waiting List: If the waiting list is exhausted, candidates may be selected from the remaining candidates who meet the qualifying marks, based on merit.
