NWR RRC Recruitment 2024

North Western Railway is inviting online applications from eligible Indian sports persons to fill 54 posts under the Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2024-25. The available positions include 5 in Pay Level 4/5, 16 in Pay Level 2/3, and 33 in Pay Level 1 across various disciplines. Only candidates possessing the required sports qualifications are eligible to apply.

Qualification 

  • Candidates must possess a degree or graduation (or its equivalent) from a recognized university, or a B.Sc. for the position of Signal Maintainer Grade-I.
  • For the Junior Stenographer role, a 12th grade (+2 stage) or equivalent from a recognized Board/University is required, along with a dictation speed of 80 words per minute for 10 minutes, and transcription times of 50 minutes (English) and 65 minutes (Hindi).
  • For Tech-III, candidates should have completed 12th grade (+2 stage) or its equivalent from a recognized Board/University, or passed Matriculation with an ITI certificate, or simply Matriculation from a recognized Board.
  • For positions in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, S&T, and Catering departments, candidates must have a 10th grade pass from a recognized Board plus a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT, or a 10th grade pass plus ITI.
  • For other departments, candidates need to have a 10th grade pass, ITI, or equivalent from a recognized Board, or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Age Limit 

The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 25 years as of January 1, 2025, meaning candidates must be born on or after January 2, 2000, and on or before January 1, 2007. No age relaxation, either upper or lower, will be permitted.

Examination Fee

For all candidates, the application fee is Rs. 500 (Rupees Five Hundred Only), with a provision to refund Rs. 400 (Rupees Four Hundred) to those who actually participate in the trial.

For candidates belonging to SC/ST, Women, Minorities*, and Economically Backward Classes, the fee is Rs. 250 (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only), with a refund available to those who appear in the trial.

Selection Procedure

  • Selection will be based on document verification, performance in sports trials, and an assessment of sports achievements and educational qualifications.
  • North Western Railway will conduct the selection for Head Quarter Quota vacancies, while respective Divisions/Workshops will handle their own quotas.
  • After the Scrutiny Committee reviews applications, shortlisted eligible candidates will be called for document verification and sports performance trials.
  • Only candidates deemed "FIT" after the trials will advance to the next stage, which involves assessing sports achievements and educational qualifications by the Recruitment Committee.
  • The Recruitment Committee will award marks (out of 60) only to FIT candidates based on their sports achievements and educational qualifications.
  • Candidates declared "NOT FIT" will not be evaluated further. Assessments will be conducted on the same day as the trials, or at most, the following day.
  • The final merit list will be compiled by adding the marks awarded by the Trial Committee (out of 40) to the marks from the Recruitment Committee for the FIT candidates, creating a total score out of 100.
