Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, seeks to hire personnel on a contractual basis for immediate engagement under the Mahanadi Basin Project in Bhubaneswar. These positions are purely temporary and involve working in shifts, including arduous and hazardous tasks at remote and far-flung OIL installations/ locations. Additionally, candidates may be required to be on "On-Call" duty basis. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply at the time of registration.

Eligibility Criteria

Contractual Chemist

Candidates for the position must hold either a Post Graduate degree in Chemistry of two years' duration from a Government recognized University/Institute, or a four-year BE/B.Tech degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering from a Government recognized University/Institute. Additionally, candidates should possess a minimum of two years' post-qualification work experience in the preparation, maintenance, and supply of Water Base Drilling Fluid (Mud) in drilling wells.

Contractual Drilling Engineer

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering, which is four years in duration, from a Government recognized University/Institute. Additionally, they should possess more than three years of post-qualification work experience in the upstream Oil & Gas industry. It is also mandatory to hold a valid Well Control Certificate (IWCF Level-4/IADCL4).

Age Limit

  • Age Limit (years) as on the date of registration for Walk-in-Interview
  • Contractual Chemist: Minimum age: 24 years Upper age limit: 50 years as on date of registration for Walkin-Interview.
  • Contractual Drilling Engineer: Minimum age: 24 years Upper age limit: 40 years as on date of registration for Walkin-Interview.

Selection Process

  • Candidates will be selected based on a Walk-in-Interview comprising a total of 100 marks.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for candidates in all categories will be 50.
  • The 100 marks in the Walk-in-Interview will be allocated as follows:
  • Professional Knowledge and skills (in the concerned discipline)
  • Professional Knowledge and skills (in allied disciplines)
  • Personal Attributes
  • Soft Skills
  • Final selection will be based on merit, determined by the marks obtained in the Walk-in-Interview. Only candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks of 50 will be considered for selection.

  • Interested candidates meeting the above eligibility criteria should report for registration for the Walk-in- Interview process at the following venue as per the schedule given below:
  • Venue: Mahanadi Basin Project (erstwhile Bay Exploration Project), Oil India Limited, IDCO Towers, 3rd Floor, Janapath, Bhubaneswar-751022, Odisha, India.
  • Date and Time of Registration: 19/07/2024 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
  • Date of Walk-in-Interview: 19/07/2024
  • Candidate(s) without original document(s)/certificate(s)/testimonial(s) will not be allowed to appear in the Walk-in-Interview.

Documents Required

  • Filled Personal Bio-Data Form (format provided in the advertisement).
  • One recent 3cm X 3cm colored photograph.
  • Valid Identity Proof and Address Proof issued by Competent Government Authority.
  • Date of Birth (DOB) proof (Birth Certificate or Class X certificate).
  • Class 10 Admit Card, Marksheet, and Pass Certificate from Government Recognized Education Board.
  • Essential qualification and Experience Certificates.
