The scheme will be referred to as the "Scheme for Selection and Appointment of Research Assistants in the High Court of Orissa" and will take effect from the date of its publication in the Odisha Gazette. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for appointment/engagement of 20 (twenty) Research Assistants in the High Court of Orissa with a fixed monthly honorarium/stipend of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousands) per month.

Eligibility Conditions
(i) A candidate must hold an LLB or LLM degree, or any higher qualification in Law from a recognized institution within three years prior to the application date and should not have more than five years of practice if a practicing advocate.
(ii) The candidate must possess good working knowledge of computers.
(iii) The candidate should be in sound health, both mentally and physically, and free from any disabilities that would make them unfit for the assignment.
Age Limit
A candidate must not have attained the age of 33 years as on 1st January preceding the last date fixed for submission of the application. He must be a citizen of India.
Honorarium Details
A fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000 (Rupees Thirty Thousand) per month will be paid to the Research Assistant, or a higher amount as prescribed by the State Government. No dearness or other allowances/perquisites will be provided. The honorarium will be proportionately reduced for unauthorized absences or absences exceeding the permissible leave period.
Selection Method
(i) The Chief Justice or a Judge may recommend one candidate each for appointment as a Research Assistant, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Recommended candidates will be appointed and attached as Research Assistants to the Chief Justice or Judge.
(ii) Candidates not recommended must apply to the Registrar General of the High Court of Orissa using the form in Schedule-I, following an advertisement in at least two widely circulated newspapers, including one in the regional language. Applications will be screened, and eligible ones will be reviewed by a Selection Committee.
(iii) The Selection Committee will conduct oral interviews for 100 marks to assess candidates. A minimum of 40% marks is required to be included in the merit list.
(iv) The Selection Committee will prepare a merit list of candidates who scored at least 40% in the interview and recommend them for appointment as Research Assistants to the Chief Justice, along with any candidates recommended by the Chief Justice or Judge, up to the advertised vacancy limit.
