Candidates must answer multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering General Awareness and other relevant topics. The exam duration is 150 minutes, and there is a negative marking scheme of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response. Candidates who qualify in the Prelims will proceed to the next stage, the Mains Examination.
Mains Examination
The Mains Examination is the second stage and is designed to assess the Technical Knowledge of the candidates. It consists of an objective-type exam with 100 questions for a total of 200 marks.
