The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Syllabus for the year 2024 governs the examination process for the recruitment of 4 Research Officers (Group-A) and 16 Assistant Research Officers (Group-A) in the Department of Water Resources, Government of Punjab. Revised Pattern for Written Competitive Examination

  • The written competitive examination now consists of four parts:

    • Part A: Questions from the Subject

      • Total Questions: 90
      • Total Marks: 360
      • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Part B: General Knowledge & Current Affairs

      • Total Questions: 10
      • Total Marks: 40
    • Part C: General Mental Ability, Logical Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude

      • Total Questions: 10
      • Total Marks: 40
    • Part D: Punjabi

      • Total Questions: 10
      • Total Marks: 40
  • The total number of questions is 120, carrying a total of 480 marks.

Syllabus Details

  • Part A: Subject Syllabus

    • Candidates are directed to refer to Annexure VIII - Part A of the General Information for the detailed subject syllabus.
  • Part B: General Knowledge and Current Affairs

    • Includes topics of national and international importance such as economic issues, polity issues, environmental issues, geography, science and technology, and other current issues.
    • History of India with special reference to the Indian freedom struggle movement and history of Punjab from the 14th century onwards.
  • Part C: General Mental Ability, Logical Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude

    • Covers analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, mental ability, basic numerical skills, data analysis, and graphic presentations.
  • Part D: Punjabi

    • Covers the Punjabi language and its various aspects.
